Last June our family went back to Colorado for a visit. On our way out we stopped by Deseret Book to get a book we could read on the way. I found Fablehaven and we were on our way. About the time we pulled into Colorado Springs we were about half way through the book and at the most intense part. I was a bit concerned that it wasn't going to set well with the kids and thought we might just stop there but on our way back everyone wanted more. We had finished the book by the time we got home.

We have had so much fun reading the series! With the 4th book coming out on March 24th we were excited to find out that the author, Brandon Mull, was coming to the school on the 25th. We were lucky Randi was one of the classes that were able to attend. We checked Ryder out of class so the entire family could attend with Randi's class. I have to admit, I have never been one to feel it important to meet an author and get a book autographed, but we took our books with us and had him sign them. We even got a chance to talk to him about his books for a few minutes. Unfortunately I remember the camera about half way through.

It doesn't end there! The next day he was going to be at Barnes and Noble for a book signing. Jim got their early fto get a number and bought the 4th book 'Secrets of The Dragon Sanctuary' along with 'The Candy Shop War'. Thanks to Jim, we got all of our books signed and were still home at a decent hour. Again, I didn't take the camera.

I have to admit, I'm not much of a reader, especially this kind of book, but this series hooked me. This man is an amazing writer. If you ever get a chance to read one of these books I highly recommend them. We haven't read 'The Candy shop War' yet, but I have heard it is very good also.
